4.   Q: I’m hooked on the Pearl Sake. What makes it so cloudy?
A: NIGORI is a coarse or roughly, filtered saki, it’s typically cloudy and NIGORI sake has a naturally sweeter and subtle profile. MOMOKOWA PEARL is a great foil for spicy foods, and versatile enough to be great with desserts.

5.   Q: I’ve enjoyed it both hot and cold, but what really is sake?
A: Sake is a beverage made from four main ingredients: rice, water, yeast and koji. Koji is an enzyme that can be compared to brewer’s yeast that converts starch into sugar, and imparts distinct and wonderful flavors. Sake is an all-natural rice-based fermented alcoholic beverage, that dates back almost 7000 years and essentially is brewed like beer.

6.   Q: I've had sushi all over the world. Hawaii, San Francisco, Nobu in New York, LA and sushi samba. I can tell you you have a real gem. Blu is as good...and I think overall BETTER than any of them. The chefs are top shelf, and the staff knows their stuff.Good job...keep up the good work.
A: Thanks so much. We owe it to our Executive Sushi Chefs and 'BluSushi Artists' Kevin Mak and his brother Billy Mak. Kevin & Billy have been with Blu from conception and are working stockholders of BluSushi. Along with a staff of all-stars they consistently wow our guests and impress food critics and big city sushi snobs. They'll be the first to tell that their dedicated staff of professionals help create the magic that has rated us 'Four Stars for over Five Years' and why Gulfshore Life has awarded Blu the 'Best Sushi' award in 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, and 2007.

7.   Q: Is Blu a chain? I\'ve heard of one in Atlanta...and my friend says there is one in Minnesota.
A: We are Blu Sushi...a company and concept that was started here in Southwest Florida. We are not affiliated with any other Blu restaurant concept, and we have a registered trademark for BluSushi. We have friends and fans around the globe that know that there is only one Blu...the Art of Sushi and Outrageous Cocktails\' and we\'re close by and right here in your community. 8.   Q: We love Blu Sushi AND Outrageous Cocktails! How do you come up with the drinks and the names? We like them all, but we agree that the Aloha Mr. Edison is the best! So what is the story with the name, and what is in it?
A: When Courtney Jones first envisioned the Blu concept he saw a vibrant barroom with people raising glasses and enjoying cocktails that would compliment the world class sushi that he knew Kevin Mak along with younger brother Billy would create. Courtney recruited Larry \'Smokey\' Genta, who he knew as a client when Larry opened the Suncoast School of Bartending in 1983 and later as the high energy bartender and bar manager at such SW Florida landmarks as Elations, Norma Jean\'s, Hollywood Knights, and Club Oasis in Naples. After seeing and sampling the protoype menu that was to be known as BluSushi...Smokey said \'The sushi looks like art...the cocktails got to be...outrageous.\" As so they were. Larry Smokey Genta continues to design and create Outrageous Cocktails for BluSushi and also creates cocktail menus and features for national spirit brands, charitable organizations as well as consults and creates various beverage programs within the beverage industry.
Aloha Mr. Edison
It was 2003. BluOne had been open a day or two, and Smokey made a batch of delicious and quenching martinis for some guests to sample. They were icy and tasty and both the men and the ladies smiled at first sip. The older man was surprised how smooth it tasted and asked what was in it besides pineapple juice. When told that there wasn\'t ANY juice and at all...and that it was just a blend of liquors...he replied \'Good night nurse!\" After hearing that, one of the ladies said she was glad she just had to go down McGregor just past the Edison home. One of the other guys said, \"When when you drive by, say ‘Goodnight to Mr. Edison’ . She replied, ‘I think a couple more of these pineapples and I may say hello to Mr. Edison \'Smokey\' said \"Just say ‘Aloha, Mr. Edison’ and either way, it’ll be our secret\".
That certainly wasn\'t the first, but it has been the most popular of Smokey\'s creative cocktails with even more creative names. Find out \'what\'s in it\' and the recipe for the \'Aloha Mr. Edison\' at www.OutrageousCocktails.com

We’re proud to say that for the sixth year, ‘Aloha Mr. Edison’ is still the favorite Outrageous Cocktail in all three of our award-winning locations, and was selected Best House Drink 2008 by Gulfshore Life Magazine
